Stephen is the western Pennsylvania Field Associate for PennEnvironment. Based in Pittsburgh, Stephen is coordinating with a local coalition of green groups, health professionals, and academics to organize residents concerned about the area’s insufficient air quality. Stephen is also building support in the region for tackling global warming and to promote solutions that will cut greenhouse gas emissions. Finally, Stephen is also spearheading PennEnvironment’s work in western Pennsylvania to protect vulnerable populations from the dangerous impacts of the dangerous drilling practice known as fracking.
Stephen graduated from Michigan State University in 2014 with a degree in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy. As a student, he worked with the MSU Beyond Coal campaign pressuring the administration to transition from its on-campus coal-fired power plant to renewable energy and led a push to divest the university’s endowment from fossil fuels.
