With wind at its back and sunny days ahead, California’s renewable energy bill passes state Senate

The California state Senate passed Senate Bill 100 (SB 100) by today, affirming the state Assembly’s vote yesterday. SB 100, which would put the state on a path to generate 100 percent of its electricity from renewable and zero-carbon sources such as solar and wind by 2045, now heads to Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk for his signature.

Advocates Rally for Climate Action in Center City

Philadelphia, PA - On Tuesday, August 28th, citizens joined PennEnvironment Research & Policy Center, Clean Air Council, PennFuture, and the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 3631 for a “Beat the Heat” Rally with free ice cream from Franklin Fountain at Logan Square to show that while Pennsylvania can cool off with frozen treats now, citizens need to make their voices heard and call for long term solutions to beat the heat and prevent the worst impacts of climate change.
