Clean Air

Pennsylvania suffers from some of the worst air pollution in the country.  Our coal-fired power plants spew out thousands of pounds of soot- and smog-forming pollution each year, while the many cars, trucks and buses that cross the state every day only add to Pennsylvania’s air pollution problems.  The public health and environmental impacts of this air pollution are staggering, including 1,800 Pennsylvanians dying prematurely each year from power plant pollution alone.

PennEnvironment is advocating at the state and national level for the common sense solutions that will help us clean up our air and protect public health in Pennsylvania.  These include requiring existing power plants to cut their pollution, bringing cleaner cars to Pennsylvania, and cleaning up dirty diesel trucks and buses.
